The white sky
The white sky
opens my ears
With silence,
Fills each limb
To the bone.
Like a vast canvas,
It stretches before the eye,
Spotless and still,
Vibrant and tremulous.
When see myself
In its face,
lts silver glint
Mirror to the soul,
I grow helpless as a sea
That lays prostrate
Against the void,
Facing it wave to wave,
Shore to shore.
Limbless, rudderless,
I float in the overbearing white
Like a cloud,
Listening to the echoes
Of its emptiness.
