A diamond sea

A diamond sea

Overllows matter,
Objects sparkle
And coruscate,
Grains of sand

With powdered gold
And silica!

Body of Christ!

When veins fill up
With light

And limbs float helpless
In a tranquil sea

That shimmers with wine
And burns cobalt
And white.

Body of Christ!

A fan of radiance

Spreads from the heart
With rays that quicken
All matter, make dense
And tactile waves of light
And all space and time
A single dimension

Against the unspeakable
Mystery like a golden leaf
Out of a tome,

Ancient and calligraphic.

Body of Christ!
