वक़्त गुज़र गया, दोस्त, पर शाम वही है
रहगुज़र कितने मिले मगर नाम वही है
राहें वहीं हैं आज भी खोई-खोई सीं कुछ
सोया-सोया सा मगर बाम वही है
Time has passed us by, my friend, but the evening is the same.
Many travellers have we met with an unchanged name.
The alleys are yet the same, emptied of men.
The patio remains still and withdrawn within.
