इश्क़ ऐसा हुआ कि कोई आस ना रही
तश्नगी हुई इतनी कि प्यास ना रही
हमने तो आंसू भी रोते-रोते हँस दिए
हसरतें भी कोई उदास ना रहीं
Ishq hua aisaa ki koi aas naa rahee
Tashnagee hui itnee ki pyaas naa rahee
Humne to aansoo bhee rote-rote hans diye
HasrateN bhee koi udaas naa raheeN
Such love that we had no more desire
Such thirst that we were no longer afire
Even when crying we laughed our tears
Even our fervor was sad no more
